Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski is hoping he has injured freshman Cassius Stanley for the new year.
Stanley had to be helped off the field at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Friday after hurting his left leg in the second half against Winthrop. He landed hard on the ground after missing a tray.

Krzyzewski said after the game that Stanley will be examined further on Saturday.

A return right after Christmas would make Stanley available for most of the best-ranked Blue Devils ACC program. Duke (7-1) has conference games on December 6 against Virginia Tech and on December 31 against Boston College.
The 6-6 Stanley scored four points in the offseason in 17 minutes before leaving Friday. He started each of Duke's first eight games, averaging 12.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists.
