PLACES: Om Diva Dublin

I'm a bit mean in that I love a good strong surprise visit!

I like being able to pop into stores and see what they have sometimes. I do a lot of visits to collection launches and events where I am told what to view, so its nice to see things as they are.

One of my favorite places to view in Dublin is Om Diva. I like that they support and showcase Irish design and local designers. It's a great place to pick up something different and show stopping. I fell in love with these necklaces and also, an amazing green sequined jacket.

If your looking for Om Diva then you can find it on 27 Drury Street near the entrance to George's Arcade.

It's far more then a shop though, it has several floors of clothing, jewelry and bespoke pieces. I really love the fact that they also have atelier 27 which supports Irish designers with studio and showcase space. Something which is sorely lacking in Ireland at the moment. Not enough support for local design.  Om Diva started as a stall in George's Arcade before moving to their own place on Drury Street. I've been going there for a few years now and I always find pieces that end up haunting me.

I always regret not buying this amazing 'Last night a DJ broke my heart' T-shirt about a month after my break up with, a DJ. It was such timing and also, amazing. So I was expecting there to be more pieces that I loved and wanted badly.

There were a lot of stand out pieces when I got there.

I love a good sequin so naturally this jacket (that I badgered Z into holding) was the first piece of clothing that caught my eye. We were pressed for time so I didn't record the name of the designers. Sorry! But I loved the idea of this with jeans or over a black dress. Everything I own is black so jackets like this are wonderful for allowing a burst of color to brighten them up. Also, if you ever want to look as if you have made more effort then you have, sequined jacket does it every time.
These pins were the next thing.

I love the idea of Dublin slang as a piece of jewelry. I have my eye on that 'Wreck the Gaff' pin!

They also come as necklaces too!

At the moment, the store also has some amazing floor length floral skirts. I've been thinking about these since I left. I love them. I imagine wearing these with a simple plain white shirt. They have a few different prints although this one was my favorite by far.
I did feel bad though as we set off the alarms in the store taking this photo! Ooops!
I really enjoyed the pieces by Kiki Na Art as well. I was quite tempted by the piece with Marla from Fight Club on it.
I would really suggest going in to have a look if your around Dublin. It's really worth it. I cannot do it justice with my terrible photos. You can also check out the website here
